Under the guidance of FHI 360, the Service Provider will collect qualitative data in four regions in Gambia. The information derived from the research will be used to prioritize areas of focus for SBC interventions, to assist in early audience segmentation, and to guide SBC intervention development.

The research will be conducted in four regions of Gambia: Region 2 - West Coast (to include one urban and one periurban site); Region 3 - North Bank; Region 5 - Central River; and Region 6 - Upper River (Basse). These regions represent geographic, demographic, and cultural diversity in the country and different issues relevant to quality and access to secondary education. We refer to these five sampling units across four regions as the research “sites” throughout this RFQ.

This SBC research will follow a qualitative research design, including four types of data collection that correspond to three research questions. The primary outputs of this contract will be English-language transcripts for 60 focus groups and 25 key informant interviews (KIIs) along with detailed English language debriefing notes from six community workshops with SMC members.
