The IEJ is looking for a passionate junior programme officer/programme officer to support the implementation of the IEJ’s annual Feminist Economics Summer School (FESS). The Feminist Economics Summer School is a workstream within the African Feminist Economic Research and Policy Networks project led by a Senior Researcher. The officer will work closely with the Senior Researcher to execute the 5-day event and post-summer school research activities. The post-summer school activities include networking and learning opportunities that the school creates for the cohort of participants after the FESS.

Support the Senior Researcher to execute the following activities:

Capacity building  
  • Conceptualisation of the event.
  • Updating the FESS training material database.
  • Drafting and editing FESS training materials, such as programmes and slides.
  • Contribute to the drafting of speakers’ invitation letters.
  • Attending the Summer School to take notes and facilitate feedback sessions.
  • Develop post-FESS activities with the cohort.
Programmatic Administration
  • Assist the Project Administrators with contacting speakers, track speakers’ responses and update the database to ensure that the right people are contracted.
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as determined by the Senior Researcher.
Logistical support
  • Assisting with logistical tasks as determined by the Senior Researcher.
Organisational responsibilities
  • Coordinating organisational webinars alongside internal training workshops.
