Tasks
Fellows selected for the Coalition Africa Fellowship Program 2025 will engage in a structured set of activities throughout the 12-month duration. These activities are designed to build leadership, technical, and project management skills while fostering cross-cultural collaboration.
Here are the core tasks and components of the fellowship:
1. Weekly and Bi-Weekly Virtual Sessions
- Fellows will participate in interactive learning sessions covering themes such as leadership development, social entrepreneurship, grassroots organizing, fundraising, digital activism, and decolonial frameworks.
- Sessions will include guest lectures, panel discussions, and workshops led by experienced mentors and thought leaders.
2. Mentorship and Coaching
- Each fellow is matched with a dedicated mentor who provides one-on-one guidance tailored to their goals.
- Mentors include seasoned activists, scholars, policy experts, and NGO leaders from across Africa and the diaspora.
3. Peer Collaboration and Networking
- Fellows are grouped into peer learning pods to foster accountability and collaboration.
- The fellowship encourages cross-national partnerships and group projects that address shared challenges in participants’ communities.
4. Community Engagement and Capstone Projects
- Each fellow is expected to design and implement a community-based initiative during the course of the fellowship.
- These capstone projects are grounded in real-world needs and provide an opportunity to apply learning in practical contexts.
5. Fellowship Retreats and Digital Summits
- Virtual retreats are held at key points in the fellowship to reflect, recharge, and reconnect.
- Fellows also participate in regional and global summits organized by The Coalition Africa, offering exposure and engagement with global social impact conversations.
6. Professional Development Resources
- Fellows have access to online resources including toolkits, templates, and digital learning platforms.
- Career coaching and resume support are available to help fellows advance professionally post-program.
