Are you passionate about Africa’s creative industries and excited about shaping the continent’s creative future? Communiqué is looking for volunteer researchers to join our mission of mapping and making sense of Africa’s creative economy.

From music and media to fashion, film, and gaming, our work uncovers the people, platforms, and patterns driving the continent’s creative growth. As a researcher, you’ll play a vital role in collecting and analyzing data, conducting interviews, and sharing insights that inform our initiatives, like the African Creative Economy Database and the Creator Economy Report.

But these are just two of the many research projects we’re working on. This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced team, contributing to a growing body of intelligence that supports creators, entrepreneurs, and investors across Africa. Whether it’s disseminating surveys, discovering industry trends, or helping craft knowledge-driven content, your work will directly inform how the world understands and engages with Africa’s creative potential.

What’s in this for you?

- You get to work on some of the continent’s most exciting creative economy projects.

- Access to potential paid research opportunities when they arise.

- Access to a high-value network to boost your career.

We’d love to hear from you if you have strong research skills, attention to detail, and an interest in the creative industry.

Think you have what it takes but not sure you check every box? Research shows that while men apply to roles when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women often only apply when they meet every requirement. If you are hesitating, apply!
