Role of Board of Directors
The UAF-Africa Board of Directors comprises leaders from feminist and womn’s rightsmovements in Africa who are dedicated to the organisation’s mission from a place of powerand clarity of vision. Serving on the UAF-Africa Board of Directors is an extraordinaryopportunity for womn who are passionate about strengthening leadership and governancein feminist and womn’s rights organisations in Africa.
Board members will participate in two face-to-face board meetings per year, read boardmaterials in advance of meetings, and come prepared to ask questions and participate ingovernance, strategic and generative discussions, and debates. They will also be asked toserve on one or more committees and actively participate in committee work. Board termslast three years, and board members can serve up to two consecutive terms. The monthly timerequired would be 8-10 hours.
