Project Manager

Swisscontact is currently hiring for the position of Project Manager for an anticipated project in Uganda under the Sustainable Agriculture thematic area. The project is expected to be funded by ENABEL-Belgian Development Agency and European Union. The project's ambition is to transform Uganda’s horticultural sector into a driver of sustainable economic growth, particularly for young men and women in rural areas. It aims to create employment and economic opportunities, with a special focus on green jobs, improve livelihoods, and enhance the economic resilience of 1,600 young Ugandans by facilitating their participation in both on-farm and off-farm activities along selected horticultural value chains.

Scope of Work (SOW):
• Manage team of around 6-8 people and liaise with local and international partners.
• Execute budget as planned on time.
• Achieve project results according to project document and annual plans.
• Apply MSD methodology, DCED compliant results monitoring, facilitative approach.
• Financial controls, audit coordination
• Project monitoring and reporting to donor.
• Staff development, coaching, mentoring, HR planning
• Coordination with other projects in the country/region, within Swisscontact; content and
knowledge sharing.
• Representation of Swisscontact towards donors, partners, and other stakeholders, alongside
the Country Director Uganda
• Communication with donors, partners, internally according to C4D principles

The duties will involve the extensive application of the Inclusive Systems Development (ISD) approach
through partnership with private and public sector players to deliver sustainable impact. The Project
Manager will further be responsible for the development of innovations that can be replicated within
and beyond the region.
