Request for Proposals for the Township Economy Programme for the Social Impact Mitigation Plan

Anglo American Platinum has retained the services of the Tshikululu Trust to manage a short- term Social Impact Mitigation Plan targeting host communities of Amandelbult complex, Mogalakwena Complex and Anglo American Platinum Process operations (Rustenburg, Polokwane and Mortimer).

This Terms of Reference (ToR) is an invitation to Service Provider(s) to bid for the implementation of defined work (the “Assignment”) set out under the Anglo American Platinum Livelihoods workstream.

Preference will be given to proposals from Service Providers that:

• Are juristic persons (voluntary association/trust/company/incorporated partnership);

• Have a proven track record of working in the host communities to the Amandelbult complex, Mogalakwena Complex and/or Anglo American Platinum Process Operations (Rustenburg, Polokwane and Mortimer);

• Have a proven track record working in mining communities;

• Have an annual of turnover of at least R20 million;

• Are well-versed in organisational development and capacity building for micro- and/or small enterprise within a South African context;

• Are well-versed in entrepreneurship training and development within a South African context;

• Are familiar with global best practice with regards to project management, sustainability and impact measurement, management and reporting practices;

• Are capable of demonstrating expertise and previous practical experience (incl. evidence of previous work in this field specific to the Assignment and social investment/impact investment processes in general); and

• Are willing and able to incorporate preferential procurement strategies into the proposed Assignment workplan (specifically the creation of opportunities for local service providers in communities where the Assignment is to be implemented)
