Description
The Assistant Director will work closely with the CEO to help coordinate implementation of a new 5-year strategy, acting as a thought partner to theCEO as FSD Africa grows in scale and influence, ensuring all parts of FSDAfrica work synergistically towards achieving agreed strategic outcomes. TheAssistant Director supports the achievement of the objectives of the CEO’sOffice by leading the coordination of the office with FCDO, other stakeholders and management. He/she will also leverage the internal teams’ expertise to deliver on the programme strategy. He/she will support the CEO in the tracking of results, risks, and budget of the overall portfolio of projects and will lead special projects as assigned.In this role, and liaising closely with relevant pillar leads, he/she will support and refine new ways of working across the organisation, coordinate processes of change, strengthen internal alignment around the new strategy, help build awareness of the strategy among external stakeholders, support relationships with key stakeholders (notably FCDO), seek out impactful, new partnerships (especially in the climate finance space), support cross-pillar fund raising initiatives (concepts, pitch decks), lead feasibility assessment of new projects and scan the horizon for new opportunities or emerging risks.The Assistant Director will be expected to bring his/her ideas, experience, and networks to help consolidate FSD Africa’s position as a thought leader in financial market development and climate finance.He/she will also support the governance of FSD Africa by improving information flows between Board (and Board Committees) and senior management, and ensuring Board, Exco and other high-level meetings(including operationally focused meetings) are prepared for well and followup actions completed.Through his/her actions, the Assistant Director will project the values of FSDAfrica (including a commitment to change, collaboration, partnership, and professional standards), respecting and enhancing the culture of the organisation which emphasises inclusivity, innovation, and engagement.
