In Residence Lead
Description
As the In Residence Lead, you will oversee and manage OHA’s pool of “In Residence” experts, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support startups in their entrepreneurial journeys. This role combines hands-on entrepreneurship support with a broader management focus, working with Engineers, Communications teams, and other resources to deliver tailored assistance to our startups
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for OHA’s “In Residence” program, managing Entrepreneurs, Engineers, and other experts in the pool.
- Allocate “In Residence” resources (e.g., entrepreneurship, engineering, communication and marketing) to startups based on their specific needs.
- Ensure smooth collaboration between internal and external resources to maximize startup growth and impact.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the “In Residence” program and suggest improvements.
Entrepreneurship Support
- Lead the startups of our portfolio to their next stage of growth by delivering tools, templates, content, and connections tailored to their needs.
- Conduct market research, stakeholder and value-chain mapping, develop business plans, and models, and draft content suitable for funding applications
- Provide practical assistance in the execution of business plans and address startups’ commercial and operational needs.
- Implement online or on-field sprint sessions for selected startups
- Prepare and participate in regular 1-to-1 business coaching sessions with startups
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Engineers, Communication teams, and other functional resources to deliver tailored support for startups.
- Assist with organizing OHA events such as Demo Days, startup showcases, in-person training sessions, and peer-learning opportunities.
- Support OHA’s partnerships by fostering relationships with ecosystem players (investors, mentors, corporate partners).
Reporting & Strategy
- Report on startup progress and the effectiveness of allocated resources
- Support fundraising efforts to sustain OHA’s growth
- Provide insights to ensure continuous improvement of OHA’s entrepreneurship support programs
- Undertake ad hoc tasks aligned with OceanHub Africa’s broader mandate and objectives.
